Export your TV tracker before it closes
The lesson from TV Time is mechanical: if you cannot download your history this week, you do not own it. Here is what to export and keep.
Download a file that includes show title, season, episode, and status. Store it outside the product. A tracker that cannot export is a tracker you should not trust with years of history.
What the file must contain
Titles alone are not enough — two shows share names. Season and episode numbers, plus a watched or watchlist flag, are the minimum that another tool can map.
If the product offers JSON or CSV, take that over a screenshot of your shelf.
Do it on a calendar
Exports go stale. When you finish a season, export again. After TV Time, people who had a two-year-old file still recovered more than people who had none.
Frequently asked questions
Does this tracker export?
Yes. Export is part of the product because a history you cannot leave is the failure mode we are replacing.
Is Trakt a backup?
If you already scrobble there, yes — it has a real export. It is not a backup of a service you never connected.
