Limited series versus ongoing shows on the same shelf

A six-episode limited series that might get a second season is not the same object as a network procedural. Your shelves should say which wait you are in.

When the finale airs, move a true limited series to a finished shelf. If you suspect a renewal, use the gap-year shelf and a return date — not a vague “watching.”

Finished is a kindness

An up-next list stuffed with ended miniseries is how you never pick. Mark them done. You can always reopen if a sequel appears in TVmaze.

Scripted and episodic first still applies. A limited series is the easy win for that rule.

Renewal rumours are not data

Do not keep a show in paused for eighteen months on a spoiler blog. If there is no date, it is dropped or finished. You can be wrong later.

Frequently asked questions

Anthologies?

Treat each season as its own show if the cast resets. Your unfinished S1 should not hide under a new S4 poster.

Should I pay for this just for miniseries?

Pay if ads would make you quit the checkmarks. The catalogue size is not the reason.
