Specials and episode zero in the watch count
A 0x00 bonus and a Christmas special are not automatically ‘next.’ Tick them on purpose or they will sit in up-next forever after a tracker rebuild.
nextepisode should follow the episode list, not a fan wiki’s lore order. If a special is numbered, you can mark it. If it is unnumbered junk, park it.
Specials are optional until you say otherwise
A behind-the-scenes extra should not block season two. Keep the up-next queue for episodes you would actually sit down to watch.
Anime and 0.5 episodes
Split cours and recap specials already confuse numbering. Mark what you watched. Do not let a recap episode hold the season hostage.

Should I import specials from Trakt?
Import them, then drop the ones you never intended to watch. A false remaining count is how you ignore the queue.
What about director’s-cut replacements?
Treat the cut you watched as the tick. Do not unwatch a season because a new file exists.
