Your progress is not the licence. A tracker should still know you are on S03E04 after the title left Netflix. Availability is a different field.
nextepisode is for episode state across services. When a show leaves a catalogue, keep the tick. Add a note if you must hunt a disc. Do not delete the history because a row turned grey.
Do not reset the season
Starting over because you have to switch apps is how households fight. The next unwatched episode is still the next unwatched episode.
Return dates are not availability
An unaired next season is a date. A delisted current season is a library problem. Those banners should not look the same.
