Trakt scrobble versus a manual tick after TV Time
Automatic scrobble is convenient until a paused episode marks watched. A simpler tracker that you tick on purpose will disagree with Trakt — pick a source of truth when you import.
nextepisode can ingest a Trakt export. It will not keep two live scrobblers honest for you. After a shutdown, a manual tick plus an export you control is the safer loop.
Imports are snapshots
A Trakt file is what Trakt believed that day. A TV Time export is what survived that product. If they disagree, you will get duplicate seasons or a show you already finished.
Resolve conflicts once. Then tick as you watch so the next export is yours.
Scrobble lies in households
A shared Plex user will mark your partner’s episode. Household progress without a social graph still needs two profiles or honest manual ticks.
Frequently asked questions
Should I keep Trakt running?
If you like it as a backup export, yes. Do not run two primary trackers and hope they stay twins.
What if I only have memory?
Rebuild the watchlist from memory, then export. Perfect history is gone with TV Time’s servers.
