A TV Time alternative for tracking shows and episodes

GetTVTime is an independent browser tracker for manually recording shows and watched episodes. Try the public demo before switching, and check which history files the importer actually accepts before moving years of progress.

Who this tracker fits

This is for viewers who want to keep a list of series, mark individual episodes watched, and see what remains in each season. Your account keeps that state across visits. The demo uses sample data, so you can try the sequence without changing a real watchlist.

It is less useful if your main requirement is automatic scrobbling from a media server. Watching a video does not automatically mark it complete here. If you need passive playback tracking, compare that feature before switching.

A show-to-episode workflow

Find a show, add it to your library, then open its season list. Mark an episode after you finish it; the next unwatched episode moves into your up-next queue. If you checked the wrong episode, undo the mark rather than rebuilding the show.

For example, someone following two series can finish season one of the first, pause the second, and come back a month later. The first series still has a next episode, while the paused one retains its history without crowding the immediate queue.

Shelves and a useful watch-next queue

Watching, watchlist, paused, finished, and dropped are different decisions. Move a show between shelves as your plans change; the episode history remains attached to the show rather than a streaming service.

The watch-next view is based on those saved choices. It is not a claim to know your taste, an availability guide, or a video player. It helps answer what you were already watching and where you stopped.

Check your migration file first

If you have an export from another tracker, review its format and the import screen before assuming every field will transfer. Show names can be ambiguous, episode numbering can change, and private notes or ratings may have no matching field.

Keep the original file until you have checked imported shows and a sample of watched episodes. If you have no export, you can still add shows manually. This page cannot recover data from a service you can no longer access.

Return dates come from TVmaze

Show search, episode lists, and air dates use TVmaze's community-maintained metadata. Networks change schedules, and a future date may be missing or revised. Use the date as a planning signal rather than a guaranteed broadcast notice.

TVmaze supplies information about shows; it does not provide the videos. GetTVTime does not host episodes or tell you which subscription currently carries one.

Export and account control

Check the account export before committing your full library. Review which show, episode, and status fields it includes and retain a copy you can inspect. An export is most useful when you know how to read it outside this product.

You can start with a small library and test the basic loop in the demo. Sign up only when you want your own progress saved. This independent service is not affiliated with TV Time or its owner.

Limitations before you switch

Episode progress is manual, imported histories need verification, and upcoming dates depend on an external metadata source. Those limits matter more than a long feature list when the tracker is holding years of viewing history.

Try one show in the demo, check the episode checkmark and up-next result, then compare the outcome with the workflow you actually need.

Frequently asked questions

Does it automatically detect episodes I watched?

No. You mark episodes watched yourself; GetTVTime does not scrobble playback from streaming services.

Can I import my TV Time history?

Use the import screen to check the file formats it accepts and review a small sample after import. This page does not promise recovery from a closed account or a perfect match for every field.

Can I export my saved data?

The account export lets you download your saved history. Check the file and its fields before relying on it as your only backup.

Where do show and return dates come from?

The show and episode metadata comes from TVmaze. Air dates can be revised or unavailable.

Can I try it without an account?

Yes. The public demo uses sample shows and lets you test episode progress without saving a personal library.

Is this connected to TV Time?

No. GetTVTime is an independent tracker and is not affiliated with TV Time or its owner.
